Through various mechanical testing efforts, the Dolan Technology Center has extensive capabilities to provide mechanical testing services. Whether combined with electrical testing or stand alone, we can provide the requested mechanical testing.

Test using Tinius Olsen Tensile Testing machine to apply mechanical stress to vendor- and field-aged samples.

Test insulators using a Megger or high-voltage test; insulators are taken to the ultimate mechanical failure.

Use rifle/shotgun test to verify the ability of the insulator to sustain 50% of their mechanical rating while being subjected to 22-caliber rifle fire or a 12-gauge shotgun blast.
